I have the immense pleasure to give you the overview of Kevin’s IELTS classes as his happy alumnus.
The whole course was very well structured and aimed at achieving the best progress possible. We had so-called exam blocks to go through and after each block the test was to follow to check our progress. We went from the easiest to the most complicated, getting through vocabulary, phrasing, special technics on sentence and paragraph structure proceding to all types of paragraphs and essays possible.
Kevin was highly encouraging as well as demanding teacher. I was eager to do my homework and always got constructive feedback on it, enabling me to avoide my mistakes in the future and amend my skills (especially in writing).
In the speaking part the atmosphere of exam was created to learn to overcome the stress and get ok with on-spot speaking – also always with feedback and samples afterwards. We were also taught some very specific and extremely useful technics on dealing with would-be easy reading and listening tasks – and those were the ones I got the best scores at – 8.0 and 9.0 respectively.
With each and every class I felt significant progress and though I did not have much time for preparation, you can judge the efficiency from my scores: at the beginning of the course my approximate and the most ambitious score amounted to 6.5 out of 9.0, while the final score I was officially awarded in 2 months by Brirtish Council was 8.0!
Howevever, you would not deny that only strong involvement and strive for success of the student can give the positive result with the guidance of experienced tutor. Anyway, Kevin usually does not take on students, whose potential he is not sure at, so if you’re in – do your best, because now you’re on your way to success!
